CommentsDevious CommentsAh, but I have no intention of wasting any further time on it. It is and was always meant to be an exercise. What is rough will remain rough and actually I had meant it to be even rougher as an experiment, but I just had to futz about with her face. Someday I may even do one the way I see in my head which is almost more light and color than distinct form. Thanks though. Love to hear from you.
-- Maria Aragon Seriously, I may not let her survive. I've developed comfort levels with some dimensions when I paint and this sort of size I no longer like much at all. I'm trying to get rid of some 'old' ideas in my head so I can go crazy with color in my next 'series'. Can you tell I'm a little bored?
-- Maria Aragon No problem. Always good to discuss art seriously, which is almost unheard of on this website.
-- Member of the Dark Arts Asylum Buy My Prints! [link] I've kind of noticed that. I am really over-eager to be done with this writing. I thought I had finished, but then this story rose up out of nothingness and would not leave me in peace until I dealt with it. My concentration is nothing of what it should be when I paint, which drives me to distraction. I may, once this writing ordeal is done, go back and tinker with Athena, but right now...to quote the immortal Charlie Brown: ARGH!

The clothing should also be reworked. I would find or photograph some reference of this type of dress and work it in. Finally, I would add some more tonal gradation to the helmet, perhaps even giving it a chrome like surface. The flatness that the helmet has now really takes away from the beauty of the face.
This piece has a lot of potential and I think with some reworking it could come together really nice. I hope I was helpful!
