“After the events recounted in “The Call of Cthulhu”, Inspector John R. Legrasse led many investigations into the swamps surrounding New Orleans searching for more clues about the mysterious “Cthulhu Cult”. On one particular visit, Legrasse and his men found the remains of a recently used shrine of some sort. There were signs of bonfires and blood sacrifices and in the middle of an occult circle was a large stone altar. Upon this altar was a mass of strange fetish figures which Legrasse could only call “Voodoo dolls” for lack of a more appropriate term. They seemed to depict various creatures or deities and each had a small piece of gold with an unknown hieroglyph carved into it.”
